Good vs. Evil
When put in a situation like thhis, you cannot expect people to act the same as they would in their normal environment. There is good and bad found deep inside all of us, but when put in a situation like this... one side shows.
In this story, it was a direct battle between good and evil. Ralph was always trying to be the good guy and help everyone out, but Jack wanted to be powerful and controlling. These two boys directly portrayed good and evil.

"The world, that understandable and lawful world, was slipping away."
All of the good things that the boys had been taught throughout their lives so far had slipped away from them. Some stayed innocent longer than others, and this caused a good vs. evil theme. The boys had been on the island long enough to make their own decisions about what was right and what was wrong. While on the island, some boys, such as Jack, forgot his morals and became ruthless. On the other hand, Ralph and Piggy tried to use their talents to help the boys survive on the island.
